The British PPG comps committee are calling for nominations for the Johan Bossuyt trophy, which is awarded annually to pilots who have demonstrated good sportsmanship and selflessness.
Belgian pilot Johan Bossuyt sadly lost his life, along with his passenger Bert Declercq, in a flying accident on a tandem trike at his home airfield in 2006.
The Johan Bossuyt Paramotor Trophy was set up in his memory, inspired by Johan’s spirit and selfless giving to others. It is awarded during the British Paramotor Championships, which in 2016 start on 25 June.
Paul Smith, 2015 winner of the trophy, says:
The trophy is presented at the British Paramotoring Championships, this being the venue where we had all got to know Johan originally and where some of his overseas pilot friends still join us to enjoy and participate in the competition.
You can read more about Johan and the trophy on the Johan Bossuyt pages of the PPGComps website.
Please email nominations to Paul Smith, with the subject line ‘Johan trophy nomination’. You should include the name of your nominee and why they are deserving of the trophy.
Paul adds, “Please do not follow the links on the ppgcomps page to the form on the old Johan Trophy dedicated website, as we are having problems linking this form to our emails”.
