The 2016 Serial Cup competition took place in Slovenia from 10-15 September. Four tasks were scored, ranging from 37 to 67km in distance, and prizes awarded in several categories, with Jurij Vidic winning overall on an EN C Nova Triton 2.
The Serial Cup has been run since 2011, and is based in Slovenia using Kobala and Lijak launches. It is open to pilots flying wings of EN C and below, and promotes an atmosphere of learning in the competition environment.
The event is primarily designed for pilots already achieving cross-country flights wishing to increase their range of skills, distances flown and their understanding of the sky and competition tactics.
Prizes are given in EN B and EN C wing-class categories, plus women, juniors (under 28s) and teams. In addition, three experienced competition pilots are invited to fly serial wings alongside the other competitors. They help with task debriefing, and give lectures on relevant topics, some of which have been recorded and can be watched here.
