U-Turn made the Twinforce RE4 tandem acro paraglider so that experienced acro pilots can share the fun.
It’s a descendant of the glider that Pál Takáts and Gábor Kézi first looped in Switzerland back in 2010.
U-Turn say this is the strongest wing they’ve ever made. It’s built from their PX40 cloth, with lots of seam reinforcements and line attachment points positioned for optimal load distribution. The 31m² wing weighs almost 10kg, and takes loads up to 200kg.
The demands on the glider are immense due to the extremely high forces that act upon the material. Through an intelligent layout of the line attachment points the surface load was optimized further and distributed equally. All cells are attached separately and reinforced multiple times. But also alongside the leading edge additionally sewn-in reinforcement-bands of the cell connections ensure durability in the highly stressed part of the wing.
It makes a good vehicle for training acro manoeuvres, as well as thrilling your passengers, but U-Turn warn that it won’t be available to just anyone: you’ll have to prove your abilities if you want to buy one.
The standard Twinforce RE4 colour scheme is white with a blue-and-red leading edge.
