In the middle of the desert with seemingly nothing to see for miles around, every day hundreds of cars stop beside milestone 419 of the South Panamerican Highway. They stop and get out for but a glimpse at what is probably the most striking and enigmatic wonder to be discovered in the 20th Century: giant, incredibly precise drawings scratched into the desert floor by an ancient and long gone civilisation.
