Chamonix site info, summer 08
The replacement of the Planpraz gondola means that the launch site of Planpraz / Brevent will not be accessible this summer.
The Chamonix club, Les Gratte-Ciel, with the help of the Chamonix ski lift company has created a new take off at Index ( E – S. 2350m) and improved the lower take off at La Flegere (E – S.E. 1950m). The sites offer thermic activity from as early as 9h . Both sites are downwind of the  Bois du Bouchet  landing field so care is needed if flying once the valley wind  starts to develop .

The Lift Company offers a pilots pass allowing unlimited access to all the lifts in the valley except Aiguille du Midi (& Plan de l’Aiguille in July & August) for 20 Euros / day. Photo required. The pass is only valid if you take the lift with your paraglider or hang glider; it is not valid for sightseeing , walking etc.
