APCO announce two new lightweight reserve parachutes
Apco Mayday 16 SLT weigh-in
In line with the market appetite for lightweight equipment, APCO now announce two new additions to their emergency parachute range – the Mayday 16 Light (LT) and Mayday 16 Superlight (SLT).
Weighing in at 1490g and 1220g respectively, both have been load-tested to 100kg making the SLT the lightest reserve parachute on the market rated to this loading.
The SLT and LT chute design is exactly the same as the classic DHV certified Mayday 16 with pull down, flat circular canopy – same area, same performance, same design.
Weight reduction for the SLT was achieved by using state of the art materials. The canopy cloth is from PN9 (the last word, most sophisticated development in parachute cloth).
The lines and tapes are from high tenacity Nylon 6.6 with Teflon interlocked to prevent friction. By directly connecting the lines to the harness, further weight savings are made.
The LT is exactly the same as the SLT, but uses the PN1 cloth which is slightly heavier.
