New paraglider flight simulator
Developed as a project for the European hang Gliding & paragliding Union’s safety and training committee by aerospace engineer, Ulrich RĂĽger, the concept and prototype of the ActiveFly simulator has now been unveiled.
It enables pilots to practise active flying and to deal with hazardous paragliding situations, in safety.
The pilot sits in a standard harness which is suspended below a frame, along with risers and controls.
Almost all European safety and training officers gave the ActiveFly Simulator a try during their AGM in Chamonix, and feedback was very positive.
Maybe one day soon they will be available as a learning tool somewhere near you!
