Apco Libra

Thursday 19 March, 2009

Apco’s Lambada replacement, the Libra (to ‘free your spirits and soar’), is now certified EN C in S and M sizes, with XS and L to follow.

The company have increased the wing’s performance by reducing drag, with innovative new ‘bullet’ risers and a reduced overall line length, to increase its performance. Because they have not had to create a drastically high aspect ratio wing, they believe they have achieved performance with high levels of safety. They say the Libra offers “true, unbeatable XC performance combined with total comfort and stability”.

They have also used new technology to reduce the weight of the Libra, and believe they have achieved this without reducing the longevity of the wing, for example Flexon battens replace Mylar stiffeners.
