Back for 2010 at the St Hilaire du Touvet ski station in the Chartreuse region of France, is the winter version of the Coupe Icare, run by the Parateam club.

This year’s event takes place 29 – 31 January, and features the speed riding competitions (4 legs), a fancy dress contest and winter film festival. There will also be introductory speed riding classes for beginners.

You can apply online here. The cost is 30 € for the three days (your ski pass is an extra 12 € a day) which includes picnic lunchs and hot dinners. The fancy dress competition takes place on the Sunday, and is 10 € to enter (plus ski pass). You can alternatively buy tickets ‘on the door’, between 8 and 9 am on the three days.

Entries for the winter film festival (on DVD) should arrive by 27 January at the latest, at the following address:
