Chamonix Airspace upper limit lowered

Monday 15 February, 2010

Cross country paraglider and hang glider pilots will be relieved to hear that the height restriction over the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve in Chamonix, France, has been lowered from 1,000 m to 300 m.

This will make it significantly easier to get out of the valley legally. The original 1,000 m restriction came from a transcription error: 1,000 feet was converted to 1,000 metres!
