SIV guru and paragliding filmmaker Jocky Sanderson is hosting Free Flight night at the Kendal Mountain Festival in England’s Lake District tonight, Thursday 18 November 2010.
He’s top billing on a night that will see talks from among others the Full Mont Blancky expedition – a do-or-die account of a group of friends attempting to fly from the summit of Mont Blanc; Stuart Holmes who flew from the summit of 6,812 m Ama Dablam in Nepal; Cross Country editor Ed Ewing; and Jocky.
Kendal Mountain Festival is Britain’s biggest mountain film festival and runs over four days from 18-21 November. Billed as the largest and most varied mountain film festival in Europe, more than 50 films are screened over the weekend.
Organisers say:
“Together with the Art and Book Festivals, speciality Bike, Snowsports, Wild Water and Free-Flight nights, the Boardman Tasker literary award plus the Adventure Film Academy for aspiring filmmakers, Kendal is one of the best mountain festivals in the world.”
Tickets for Free Flight Night at Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre cost £11.50.
