The Flytec 6030 flight instrument
There will be a new firmware upgrade, v3.33c, for the Flytec 6030 flight instrument, available for download from Flytec’s website in a few days’ time.

The upgrade addresses some minor bugs, and features the following changes over version 3.32:
1- Improved Competition Route: Allows non-standard and complex tasks (e.g., entry starts where the first TP is not the center of the start cylinder or even where the TP is not within the start cylinder, entry-exit-entry turnpoints, etc.)
2- Auto Zoom: Instrument will automatically switch to map page at full zoom (new maximum zoom scale 0.1 km) when pilot is within a user-set distance to the turnpoint cylinder/goal line. Feature now only becomes active 30 sec. Before the start time and will remain active until finish line is crossed.
3-Nascent thermal tone: Pulse/pause ratio can be customized in Settings menu. It is only active after Flight Acceptance and if groundspeed is greater than 10km/h. This eliminates noise after landing.
4- Cross track error: Back to the way it was (relative to the line between the turnpoint centers of the current leg of the route). This allows pilots to once again use XT Error to team fly (relate their relative positions).
5- Countdown timer eliminated from Information field: Time to start gate no longer toggles with the name of the start cylinder (i.e., start cylinder name shown all the time). This eliminates clutter/distraction in the information Field. The time to start gate open can be seen in user-field Race Start.
6- Start gate open tone: When the start time has passed, a new alert is given (three prolonged, high-pitched, two-tone beeps).
7- The three data fields on map page are now User-Fields
8- User-fields on map page can be a different set when map page is auto-zoomed.
9- On map page, press right arrow to remove Wps not used in the active competition route. Now Wps will remain hidden until they are summoned back with another press of the right arrow key.
10- SD card greater than 2GB can be used.
