UP Fast XC, a paraglider pod harness for cross country pilots
UP have added another paraglider harness to their ‘Fast’ pod range, the light and compact Fast XC.
Constructed from tough Cordura fabric and built to last, UP describe the Fast XC as their sports roadster, if the Fast Pro2 is their premium sports car. It has been made more easily packable and travel-friendly, where the Fast Pro2 is built for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, regardless of weight and packability.
It may be smaller and lighter, but safety-wise it has been well thought-out. The hangpoints are 3-5 cm higher than on the Fast Pro² which decreases the risk of twists, and body adjacent carbon reinforcements will spread the force of any impact, while a 16cm foam airbag is almost “overkill”. UP say, “not only does it reach way higher than required for certification (unlike many modern harnesses, almost all the way up to the neck) but it also achieved great attenuation results during testing (35G – maximum allowance: 50 G).

The harness comes in two sizes, and a choice of three pod lengths to ensure a perfect fit.
