The Roadster 2 is a sharknose, full-reflex PPG-dedicated wing that is suitable for a wide range of pilots, from beginners up.
Ozone say it is fun, safe and forgiving, and for “Any pilot who wants to progress safely and push their boundaries with the reassurance of an EN B certified wing”.
They explain:
The Sharknose profile maintains a constant level of lift and internal pressure over a wide range of angles of attack. It increases stability in accelerated flight, making it very collapse resistant, even in turbulent air. It accepts deep brake inputs before the stall point, so is very forgiving.
There are long-range trimmers on the risers, and a long-range accelerator system, and Ozone say it is possible and safe to fly with the trimmers in the fully slow (neutral) position whilst using the full range of the accelerator system.
The risers also feature a tip steering system for accurate and agile handling during accelerated flight, and the brake handle attachment points are adjustable to suit different motor and trike units.
With the trimmers set to slow, the take-off speed is relatively slow so you can launch and land the Roadster 2 in small spaces. Ozone describe the handling as intuitive, predictable and forgiving yet very precise and responsive.
Although the Roadster 2 was designed for pilots who fly mainly (if not exclusively) under power, Ozone say it also performs excellently unpowered in free flight. The sink rate is low enough to soar in light lift and to thermal, and the glide performance is good enough to fly cross country.
